City Resolution No. 2024-550, S.2024

A Resolution Directing Various Departments Under the Office of the City Mayor to: (1) Be on Heightened Alert and Cause the Daily Testing/Monitoring of the Municipal Waters of the City of Bacoor, Cavite and of all Seafood Sourced from the Provinces of Bataan and Cavite for the Presence of Petrochemicals and Other Harmful Chemicals Such as Lead and Mercury as a Consequence of the Oil Spill Caused by the Sinking of the M/T Terranova on 25 July 2024 off the Coast of Bataan, (2) Begin Making Plans on How to Mitigate the Impact of a Possible Ban on the Sale of Seafood and Other Aquamarine Products on the Livelihood of Fisherfolk Residing within the City, (3) Activate Checkpoints to Prevent the Entry of Seafood Laced with Petrochemicals into the City, (4) Enforce a Temporary Ban on the Use of Bacoor Bay for Swimming and Other Recreational Purposes, and (5) Authorizing the Use of One Million Pesos (PHP1,000,000.00) From the Quick Response Fund (QRF) of the City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Fund (CDRRMF) for the Conduct of Disaster Prevention, Mitigation, and Relief Operations/Activities for the Benefit of Bacooreños who might be Affected by the Bataan Oil Spill
